TEST DESCRIPTION :
This test determines the tear resistance index on paper (tissue included) and cardboard, as well as on plastic films, textiles, etc.
Four standard samples are clamped to the instrument. The equipment presents a blade to perform the initial cutting on the held samples. This blade is actioned manually by means of a lever. This initial cut will serve as a guide for the final tearing.
Once reached this point, the axial pendulum is released. The required force to tear the samples is read on the range scale incorporated in the own pendulum. The equipment is supplied with a standard pendulum of 16000 mN (1600 g). Consult other pendulums
and ranges (see next table).
